Are gonna hear new Opeth?
Guitarist/vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt of Swedish progressive metallers OPETH spoke to Decibel magazine about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to 2011's "Heritage".
"I have about six songs done and another two or three just started," he said, "plus a million ideas that I haven't processed yet. Some songs are simple and stripped-down, while others are epic in the true sense of the word. Business as usual, hopefully with unusual music."
Åkerfeldt also revealed that he plans to enrich at least a few of the new OPETH tracks with strings.
"Some of these things could easily be done with synthetic sounds or effects," he said, "but recording the STORM CORROSION LP with Steven Wilson made me realize what a massive difference it can mean to incorporate the real shit. I'm semi-pretentious in my songwriting and sometimes I go all in. I think it's time for 'all in' with strings and the full monty. Hopefully it won't be a mess."

Opeth's new album Set for Spring 2014
I think you guys already know but if you don't then Opeth are set to release their new album in 2014 spring. Mikeal said Maybe a little bit heavier. Not death metal heavy, but hard rock/heavy metal heavy. There's also lots of progressive elements and acoustic guitars, but also more sinister-sounding riffs… but it will be an expensive album. There's a lot going on, lots of string arrangements that we haven't had in the past. lets hope its gonna be what we really want. And here's one video i found on YouTube about Hitlers reaction on heritage its funny but in a sense its stupid too. Well have fun guys stay Metal.

Lars Mikael Åkerfeldt
Mikael Akerfeldt ( a genius, amazing, true Metal-head; a great guitarist;a dynamic and great vocalist; a funny and simply the best and Opethian) even these much of modifiers may not be good enough to introduce this guy He was born on 17 April 1974. This date is always in my mind since my school days..
Mikael simply is one of the best singers and guitarists, importantly a unique. This is the man of most creative power I ever have found in my life.if you are an pure Opeth fan, this man can be your ideal. Since the age of 14 he started his musical journey- as an vocalist in band called eruption. He joined Opeth as a bassist which is pretty weird. Again some changes happened and he became vocalist and guitarist of the band. Åkerfeldt performed the death vocals on Katatonia's album Brave Murder Day and Sounds of Decay.
Mikael is a very big collector of old record too. He has huge collection of some of the masterpieces in the world. He has owned more then 4500 masterpieces, and he is still not done, every day he is hungry for more to do to get it done.

Well, every one is crazy for Mikael. Many girls and even some boys, HAHAHA, but he has his own little family. He is married with his long-time girlfriend, Anna Sandberg, in September 2004. Anna gave birth to her second child. in 2007. Both of them are girls.
This masterminded man's life did not always remained great. At the beginning of the band he faced lots of criticisms, and financial problems while he used to work at a guitar shop. Even after making their 4 records he said, "We could even think of making any money. I had to ask my mum to support me". Finally, in 2001, the band got beam of light of success from Black-Water Park, which was produced by another great musician from England Steven Wilson. Blackwater was like a bit of a major hit. It got great review from every where. And Mikael said "I think, after Black-Water Park we started to make some money". After Black-Water park they knew the metal world; they started touring around the world, and again in 2002 they enter studio for another record for this campaign. Mikael said, " Well, for the new record I had lots of idea in my head but they were not getting together and I was really confused, and one of my friends suggested why did not I do two album at the same time: one mellow and another heavy. I thought, well, good idea and we did damnation which was mellow, it came out in 2002. I thought of deliverance heavy one in 2003, damnation got kind a mixed reaction and deliverance, I think. was one of the heaviest album of our career".

The leper Affinity
For all the Opethians (Play the song below and read and feel it)
As always Opeth has shown it ability to make a masterpiece. This song is a traditional Opeth song but i feel happy listening to this song . Many other Opeth songs are serious but this songs make your mood just pump up . the guitar solo of this song probably one of the best solo in the world . if you are listening Opeth for first time I strongly recommend this song to you .
You can find this song in Record Blackwater park track no.1 . as Mikael akerfeldt always says and last songs of an record should be always a good one . I think this song is also personal Favourite of Mikael himself .As a guitarist i know that this is very powerful song . The acoustic part is just amazing with the vocals and lyric

Reverie/Harlequin Forest - Opeth
This song from Ghost Reveries is now at the beginning of my playlist. I've been listeninng to Opeth since the last 4 years and TBH I don't like all the songs of Opeth but I do like most of their songs. I listen to a song and if I like it at first then I listen to it till I get tired of listening it.
This time I'm trying to get tired of listening to Reverie/Harlequin Forest form the album Ghost Reveries by Opeth but I think this will have to wait for a while because I can't get enough of this song. So, what is it that's so special in this song. Here's my analysis of the song by one of my influential band.
The first reason is of course, it is a song by Opeth. This should be the end of story but forgive me for continuing the story. This song is sung by Opeth so I can't get enough of it.
Another reason is that, there is a shift of musical genre(hope I get the right phrase) throughout this song. The song starts slowly and the whole intensity is moderate up to two and half minutes and then the musical intensity changes to a more rough and Gothic type. This variance is there all throughout the song and I think this is what makes Opeth OPETH. Then ability of Mikael Akerfeldt to change his voice from slow to growl and vice versa is another reason for my addiction to this song. And this brings me to another reason.
As the song progresses the vocals and the guitars, the drums, the keyboard and all changes the course of action. The smoothness in vocals of Mikael Akerfeldt sync very nicely with the music, which makes my ears proud of hearing this song. I also listen to this song when I'm driving to my college in the morning and when the song gets to this part that is from 6' onwards, my proud ears start to energize my mind and then I start to drive off the speed limits banging my head.
This motivation exist in my mind all day long and we all know that motivation changes the scenario of every ones life and I can proudly say that OPETH IS CHANGING MY LIFE.
This is my analysis of why I'm so addicted to this song and I can easily tell that this addiction will be there for a few more months. After this I'll search for another song of Opeth to continue the addiction which leads to the motivation. If you know other addictive and motivating songs of Opeth then please tweet me @theanilpaudel.

Demon of the fall Acoustic
Guys have to hear Demon of the fall live Acoustic its just great try it guys
Song meaning of Ghost of perdition
I think are three key words in this song. Ghost, perdition and phantasm.
I might be way off the mark here, I like and understand all of your opinions and ideas, but this is my interpretation;
I think that Ghost of Perdition means just that. A ghost, a phantasm itself, something that doesn't exist. Something that's haunting her, staying her. Perdition is complete ruin of the soul. I think it's about a woman who truly believes or feels she is possessed, something has ruined her soul, or maybe it's just that she's done bad things that she regrets, I don't know, and this sends her into madness. Her son has to sit by and witness, because he loves her. He tries to help, tries to remind her of her better days, the "ordinary days", but to no avail. I think that "the incoherrent talk of ordinary days
Why would we need to live?" is him talking to her, trying to console her, saying that if it were possible for a good person such as his mother could be taken over and ruined by the devil, then what would be the point of living?
"Devil cracked the earthly shell
Foretold she was the one
Blew hope into the room and said:
"You have to live before you die young"" could possibly be a premonition or something she had when she was younger, the idea of the devil, god and all, the idea of immortality. Heaven. But she found she would have to lead good life beforehand, she'd have live her life before becoming eternally young in heaven. But then she looks back on her life and feels she's ruined herself, and begins to go insane.

I love my guitar
As a metal fan I always used to play air guitar and I always has a dream of opening my own band. So I decided to learn Guitar . My frens told me that it would harder then optional maths and I was scared and hopeless but still is joined guitar class. First day was crap I just met my teacher and 2 other guys second day I learn chord and it was so hard and my whole body was in pain just to play that bloody chord. But again after some times it started begin easy and I practice a lot as you know practice make man perfect :D. Then again the days passed by and learn some more chords and some simple songs like happy birthday and twinkle twinkle little star. In that time every body were learning guitar just to impress their girlfriend and and show off infront of their mate they didn't knew the true meaning of music and i was always against that kind of attitude. I was so happy when my father bought me my acoustic guitar even though it was second hand it sound amazing and i was proud of having it. it was a givson guitar . Yes it was not Gibson it was Givson i think it was some Indian crap company who made and named it that but still it used to sound great so who cares about the brand. The picture shown down is that givson guitar.

My musical begining
When i was kid i first heard a song from band called creed the name of the songs was one last breath. since that day i loved rock and metal music then i started to discover some other bands like that. As i grew up i wanted some thing heavy So i started listening to System of a down and Disturbed . I just love them even tough i didn't know how to play guitar i used to play air guitar and head bang my head.
When i became 14 i heard a song from a band lamb of god they were very heavy because they were Groove metal .I started listen to them then. i wanted to know about who plays guitar drums bass and vocal that band inspired me to be a metal vocalist so sometime at homes i just used to growl and my mother used to get angry :D i found some of my friends also used to like that . We also have a dream of opening a band . finally i found about Opeth . My first song from Opeth was Harvest and i used to think they not even a metal band . Then again one day i tried the song blackwater park because the title was very interesting i love it on the 1st time even they played the same riff for for 1 min i wanted a bit more then started the vocal part i was amazed to hear the voice it was so powerful and again i couldn't believe that he sang the same song harvest if you see the normal vocals of death or black metal singer then they are like very bold but his was amazing i cannot explain it .after blackwater park i got all the album of Opeth and i love each and every song of them i started to play guitar because of them now i wanna learn all most all musical instrument in the world
